Giant Screen at Millennium Point, Millennium Point Auditorium
Officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2001, the cinema at Millennium Point operated as an IMAX, screening a mix of educational and blockbuster titles on 70mm and 3D.
In 2011 the facility was taken wholly in-house; rebranded and re-fitted as the digital-only The Giant Screen cinema; screening blockbuster movies on its 72ft wide screen; at one point the largest in Europe.
The Giant Screen closed in 2015.
As of 2022, Millennium Point uses the auditorium as an events venue, while offering a programme of event-based film screenings.
